National Crime Reading Month

NCRM is a unique, UK-wide literary festival which promotes the crime genre, both fiction and non fiction.

NCRM is designed to bring together writers and crime readers in order to help promote the genre as a whole and crime writers specifically.

We work with venues across the UK, including festivals, libraries and independent bookshops, to arrange events including talks, book signings and panel events.

Our aim is to get people talking about crime writing and more specifically to get them reading.

It is a major annual initiative coordinated by the Crime Writers’ Association (CWA), a non-profit members’ organisation dedicated to the promotion of the genre and to supporting professional writers, and sister organisation the Crime Readers’ Association (CRA).

How does it work?

We invite readers to check out events in their region – just click Events.
We ask venues such as libraries, bookshops and festivals to contact us:
  1. So we can put them in touch with authors so they can organise an event
  2. For us to publicise their event during May where CWA members are participating, on this website and across the CWA and CRA platforms.
